Huaraz – Recuay – Pastoruri Glacier – Huaraz
Your journey begins with a convenient pickup from your hotel in Huaraz. We’ll head southeast through the scenic Callejón de Huaylas, passing traditional villages such as Recuay, Ticapampa, and Catac, each offering picturesque views and a glimpse of Andean culture.
Our first stop is at the Huascarán National Park, where you’ll visit the beautiful Laguna de Pumashimin, also known as the Laguna de los Siete Colores. Its vibrant, multicolored waters create a stunning backdrop for photos and a moment to connect with nature.
Next, you’ll explore nearby rock paintings, remnants of ancient civilizations that once thrived in the region. These fascinating artworks offer insight into the cultural history of the Andes.
The highlight of the tour is a 40-60 minute trek to the Pastoruri Glacier, a breathtaking natural wonder surrounded by dramatic mountain landscapes and glacial lagoons. You’ll have plenty of time to appreciate the glacier’s icy formation, take photos, and enjoy the serenity of this unique environment.
After descending from the glacier, we’ll head to a local restaurant in Ticapampa or Catac for a delicious lunch featuring traditional Andean dishes. Savor the authentic flavors of the region while reflecting on your adventure.
The tour concludes with a scenic drive back to Huaraz, arriving at your hotel in the evening.
